Adnan Syed 1999 He was convicted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee.  Lee went missing on 13 January 1999.  Hae Min Lee's half-buried body was found half-buried in a nearby garden.  In February 2000, Syed was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to prison with an additional 30 years.



In June 2016, Syed was allowed to stand trial again by a Baltimore City Circuit Court judge, and in March 2018 the Maryland Court of Special Appeals upheld that decision.  However, on March 8, 2019, the Maryland Court of Appeals denied Syed's new trial.

Adnan Syed and Hae Min Lee were both very famous in the school.  Hae Min Lee was a member of the lacrosse and field hockey team. After they broke up, Lee began dating a man named Don, who worked with her at a local Lenscrafters.


Hae Min Lee's Murder


January 13, 1999, I am an 18-year-old Korean-American high school student.  And on the same day, his family filed a police complaint about Hae Min Lee's disappearance.  And after 1 month of his complaint, Hae Min Lee's information was received.  When the post-mortem of Hae Min Lee's was done, information was received that he was murdered by strangulation.



Arrest and Conviction of Adnan Syed


After receiving all this information, a police investigation revealed that Adnan spoke to Syed's friend, Jay Wilds accepted that he confessed that he had committed the murder.


Information was received that Adnan Syed was very angry and that is why he had a relationship with Hae Min Lee's and Adnan Syed killed Hae Min Lee to take revenge.  And after getting all this evidence, Adnan Syed was sentenced to 30 years.

Adnan Syed, I first appeared in 2003, but the appeal was unsuccessful. In June 2016, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Martin Welch granted Syed's retrial, which was filed on March 29, 2018, by the Maryland Court of Special was upheld by appeals.  However, a year later, the state's highest court overruled the lower court's decision by a 4–3 vote, refusing to re-trial Syed.  It insisted that despite the shortcomings of Syed's original legal advisor, evidence being presented recently would not have changed the jury's decision.
